Key Responsibilities: Represent RMHC-CNI at a variety of community-based activities, including: volunteer fairs, corporate service days, pop tab collections, school assemblies, third party fundraisers, etc. Educate diverse audiences about RMHC-CNI by speaking confidently about the organization’s purpose, mission, services and impact. Grow community-based support of RMHC-CNI by sharing ways to get involved and answering questions about the organization. Manage the set-up, distribution and collection of collateral and materials at all events.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age, or 25 years of age if utilizing a personal vehicle. Comfortable with public speaking and representing RMHC-CNI at a wide variety of events. Willing to interact and engage with community members and partner organizations. Flexible and able to participate in events with varied locations, times, dates and audiences. Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of professionalism. Access to reliable transportation to get to/from activities; willingness to complete and pay for an annual MVR, have a current driver’s license, insurance and a clean driving record if utilizing a personal vehicle. Must be dependable, trustworthy, friendly and flexible.
Time Commitment: Community Ambassadors must volunteer for at least two events per calendar year.
Training and Support: Volunteers must complete an orientation, background check, annual MVR (if using personal vehicle), and one training session. Community Ambassadors report to the RMHC-CNI Community Engagement team.
