Volunteer: Volunteer Lobby Greeter

The First Division Museum at Cantigny Park is seeking friendly, engaging, and enthusiastic individuals to welcome visitors to the museum at our Lobby Kiosk. Volunteers will be expected to answer visitor questions about Cantigny Park and the First Division Museum, and have a basic knowledge of the 1st Division's history. Volunteers will also keep track of museum visitation, call for staff or security assistance as necessary, and ensure the comfort and safety of the general public. This position requires some standing. Volunteers will be trained by the Volunteer Coordinator and through shadowing seasoned volunteers.

Volunteer: Volunteer Docent

The First Division Museum at Cantigny Park is seeking individuals passionate about history to give school tours for students grades 4 through 12. Our tours are designed to provide students with a deeper knowledge of American Military History through the lens of the First Infantry Division. Tours are 45 minutes in length, and give equal time to World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. Position requires volunteers to stand/walk for 45 minutes at a time. Position also requires speaking to groups of up to 25 students. Volunteers will learn the 45 minute tour through training provided by the Volunteer Coordinator and through shadowing seasoned docents. Ideal applicants will be friendly, outgoing, have a passion for history and excellent communication skills.
