Volunteer: Literacy tutorsTutors will assist individuals with Down syndrome as they develop the ability to recognize letters, letter combinations, and accompanying sounds develop an interest and enjoyment of books and reading develop the ability to recognize while words through matching, selecting and naming increase text comprehension using leveled reading texts increase the ability to read independently, apply knowledge from reading a variety of materials, and use writing skills to create projectsTutors must be 18+, time commitment at least 1 hour weekly for 10 week sessions. Dates and times coordinated between tutors and their students. Training provided.
