Position Overview The Marketing & Community Outreach Manager serves as the bridge between Spectrios Institute for Low Vision and the broader community — including patients, referral partners, donors, and the public. This role combines strategic marketing with hands-on community engagement to build awareness of Spectrios’ mission and services, increase patient and donor engagement, and strengthen partnerships across the region. The ideal candidate is a creative communicator who can balance strategy with day-to-day execution and thrives in a small, mission-driven nonprofit environment. Key Responsibilities: Marketing & Communications Develop and implement multi-channel marketing strategies to promote programs, services, and fundraising campaigns. Manage digital communications including email marketing, website content, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram). Create and maintain branded materials such as flyers, brochures, newsletters, and event collateral using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. Write compelling content that shares the Spectrios story — including patient testimonials, donor spotlights, and community impact features. Capture and edit photos and videos to highlight the organization’s mission and activities. Manage website updates and basic back-end maintenance in WordPress. Track and report key marketing metrics, including email engagement, website analytics, and social media growth. Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all channels.Community Outreach Represent Spectrios at community events, health fairs, expos, and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with senior living communities, referral sources, and other nonprofits. Coordinate and deliver outreach presentations to promote Spectrios services and expertise. Support organization-hosted events, such as educational programs and open houses.Development & Fundraising Support Collaborate with the Development Director on marketing and communications for annual appeals, Giving Tuesday, and donor stewardship. Develop marketing content for fundraising events, including the annual Gala and Golf Outing, and assist with event planning and promotion. Support donor recognition through newsletters, website features, and social media. Maintain event and donor information in CRM or event management systems. Contribute to grant writing and reporting as needed.Public Relations & Media Identify and pursue media opportunities to share stories of impact. Draft press releases and coordinate interviews or event coverage with local outlets. Maintain relationships with community partners and media contacts.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field, or equivalent experience. 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or community engagement (nonprofit experience preferred). Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills with the ability to tailor tone for different audiences. Proficiency with tools such as Mailchimp, WordPress, Canva/Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms. Familiarity with CRM systems, Google Analytics, and donor databases a plus. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Comfortable representing the organization at public events.
