Help improve a forest preserve prairie or woodland by collecting seeds or removing nonnative plants. Ages 8 and up; under 18 with an adult. Free. Team building and camaraderie happen naturally in the outdoors.  Contact us to coordinate a fun and productive group workday for your organization or corporation. Groups of 5 - 30 can assist with clean-up projects, de-littering, gardening and restoration projects including buckthorn removal, brush cutting, seed planting, seed collection, weeding, mulching and more.

Danada Equestrian Center (Wheaton) - Care for horses by helping with daily feeding and stable chores

DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center (Glen Ellyn) - Support the care and rehabilitation of injured or orphaned wildlife

Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center (Oak Brook) - Engage visitors in seasonal programs and hands-on nature activities

Graue Mill and Museum (Oak Brook) - Lead tours and demonstrate 1850s artisan techniques for visitors

Kline Creek Farm (West Chicago) - Dress in period clothing and assist staff in demonstrating life on an 1890's farm

Mayslake Peabody Estate (Oak Brook) - Help interpret the history of the mansion or care for the estate's historic gardens

Natural Resources (District-wide) - Restore prairies, wetlands, and woodlands by monitoring wildlife and improving habitats

Special Services (District-wide) - Lend a hand at special events and programs throughout the preserves

St James Farm (Warrenville) - Share cultural and natural history of the site with visitors

Trail Watch (District-wide) - Walk or bike the trails, engage trail-users and report issues to staff

Visitor Engagement (District-wide) - Assist with educational programs that connect the community to nature

Volunteer Ranger Program (District-wide) - Support recreational programs and assist at volunteer workdays
