Assist with cleaning of sites during specific times of the year.

Role & Traits Enjoys outdoor cleanup which may include: weeding, trimming of trees, grounds clean up, and other specific seasonal needs Enjoys indoor cleanup which may include: room cleaning, dusting, baseboards, deep cleaning of kitchen and other areas as determine by the site Individuals, families and small groups are welcome to participate. Friendly Visitors are matched with a senior citizen in the neighborhood who you will visit at least twice a month. All Friendly Visitors are asked to commit to the program for a minimum of one year.

Volunteer: Employment Opportunity Center Driver

Program description:

The Outreach Employment Center is a Job Training Program designed to equip and empower young adults (18-24 years of age) to pursue employment and career goals through paid work opportunities, coaching, supportive case management and career exploration.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

Transport participants in the Employment Opportunity Center from work sites to home during the week and to and from work on Saturdays. Currently the primary work sites for all participants are in Carol Stream and Warrenville. Effective coordination with EOC staff to identify transportation needs Development of supportive relationships with program participants and recognizing the need and opportunity to be a role model to participants.

 

Who’s Best Suited for Drivers?

Ability to meet all driving requirements including age 21 or over, good driving record, valid IL driver’s license, current auto insurance. A desire to support young adults in their efforts to grow job and academic skills as they progress through the employment program. Highly dependable and punctual
