Volunteer: H2O "Going Deeper" Volunteers NeededH2O “Going Deeper” Thursdays 6:30 pm- 8:30 pm (Volunteer time 6:15 pm- 8:45 pm) Every Thursday night from 7:00-8:30 at H2O, staff addresses specific teen issues from a faith-based perspective through games, activities, teaching, and group discussions. Topics vary, including subjects such as self esteem, conflict resolution, and drug resistance (all based on the 40 Developmental Assets of the Search Institute). Volunteer: H2O "Real Life" Support Group VolunteersTuesdays (Bolingbrook) 6:30 pm-8:30 pm (Volunteer time 6:15 pm-9:00pm) Every Tuesday night from 7:00-8:30 pm at H2O staff and trained volunteers facilitate small groups where teens can come to talk about their feelings, struggles, and achievements. Real Life is a safe place where youth can be heard and know they are not alone. Teens learn to support their peers and to give and receive positive feedback. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Volunteer: H2O "One-to-One" Mentoring Volunteers (must meet specified requirements)
The purpose of "One-to-Ones", is for the teen to develop a positive relationship with an adult who genuinely cares about him or her and who can provide personal support in dealing with life's pressures.
One-to-One mentoring is available to current Volunteers with excellent attendance and who have been with H2O 6 months or longer.
