Volunteer: Cat Transport

Feral Fixers was founded to practice and promote Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We humanely trap cats that are living outdoors, have them spayed/neutered and then returned to their homes. To help us in this mission, we are looking for volunteers to help transport cats to/from the spay-neuter clinics that we use. We need volunteers to assist in both the "morning runs" (usually 7AM to 10AM) and the "afternoon runs" (usually 4PM to 7PM). Occasionally these times are extended if conditions warrant. For the morning runs, you will need to review the paperwork which is to be delivered to the spay-neuter clinic. When doing the afternoon runs, you will need to review the paperwork you receive from the spay-neuter clinic as well.

You need to be at least 21 years of age. You must have a vehicle that can hold at a minimum 10 traps or transfer cages. Any SUV or larger should work. You will also need to agree in writing to follow all Feral Fixers procedures and to sign a waiver.

We need volunteers both in the morning and in the afternoon, with "sessions" running approximately 3 hours in the morning and/or 3 hours in the evening once or twice per week. Depending on circumstances, these times may be extended occasionally.

If you are interested, please visit our website (www.feralfixers.org) and click on the Want to Help? link at the top. There you will find a link to an online Questionnaire that you can complete and submit to Feral Fixers.

Volunteer: Feral cat care

Feral Fixers was founded to practice and promote Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We humanely trap cats that are living outdoors, have them spayed/neutered and then returned to their homes. To help us in this mission, we are looking for volunteers to help care for these feral cats while they are temporarily in our care.

Feral cats are brought to our location by trappers and caretakers throughout the week in preparation for them being taken to a spay/neuter clinic. Once they are done at the clinic, they are returned to our location for rest and recovery before they are picked up by their caretakers and returned to their home. While the cats are in our care, they are kept in traps or transfer cages, need to be fed and watered every day and need to have their litter paper changed at least once per day. Feral cats cannot be treated like house cats as they are unsocialized to humans and require careful handling. Trap dividers are used to enable safe access to the traps and transfer cages and allow for cleaning and feeding without contact with the feral cat.

You must be at least 21 years of age, have had prior experience with cats (prior experience with feral cats is a plus), agree to follow all Feral Fixers procedures and be willing to sign a waiver.

We need volunteers both in the morning and in the afternoon, with "sessions" running from 1-3 hours. Volunteers are needed most days of the week, but this varies according to how busy we are.

If you are interested, please visit our website (www.feralfixers.org) and click on the Want to Help? link at the top. There you will find a link to an online Questionnaire that you can complete and submit to Feral Fixers.
