Volunteer: Board of DirectorsRide Assist Naperville (RAN) provides safe, affordable, and dependable transportation for older adults in our community. We are currently seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors and help guide our organization’s continued growth and impact. · Board members serve a two-year term. · The Board convenes quarterly to offer strategic leadership and governance. · Virtual meetings are held from 10–11 a.m. on the third Tuesday of January, April, and July. · An annual in-person meeting takes place on the third Tuesday in October. Members are expected to: · Actively participate in at least one committee. · Contribute to fundraising efforts. · Assist staff and volunteers with guidance and planning. Volunteer: Drive Seniors to their routine medical appointmentsJoin us on a unique journey where every mile brings joy and independence to those in need. Here, we believe in a two-way street of enrichment – not only are the lives of seniors transformed, but as a volunteer driver, you'll also discover the incredible fulfillment that comes from making a positive impact. RAN's goal is to assist Naperville senior citizens by providing transportation to their routine medical appointments. Volunteering with us is extremely flexible! You CHOOSE which assignments you’d like and how often you’d like to drive.
Volunteer drivers are responsible for helping the senior passengers to the car and safely transporting them to their appointment. The volunteer driver remains with the senior throughout the process, unless other arrangements have been made by RAN. Requirements: Volunteers must have the sincere desire to help the elderly Have at least 5 years driving experience Own your car and have current insurance Hold a valid Illinois driver’s license Pass criminal and driving back-ground checks Provide 2 references Attend driver training You are able to set your own schedule and will know what ride you’ll be doing a week in advance. An orientation, training, name badge and business cards will be provided. Be a part of our team!
