RC is seeking candidates for the role of Annual Giving Manager. As a member of the Advancement team, the Annual Giving Manager will manage and implement a successful annual and mid-level giving strategy for donors and prospects, as well as a business relationship program.  This role will manage all direct mail and digital giving strategies, as well as manage a mid-level giving portfolio.  The Annual Giving Manager role is a full-time position, and the office will be on our Wheaton campus, with the expectation that the candidate filling the role will have presence at our Westmont location, as all as in the local community as needed.

Job Summary

The Major Gifts Relationship Manager is a full-time (40 hours per week) position that serves as a pivotal member of the Resource Development team, responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding long-term relationships with individual donors giving $1,000 or more, deepening donor engagement and financial support for Bridge Communities’ mission to end homelessness in our community. This role manages a portfolio of 130+ major donors and prospects where you will be charged with raising $350,000+ from a portfolio of donors with a strong emphasis on relationship-building, strategic cultivation, and stewardship.

The Major Gifts Relationship Manager reports to the Director of Resource Development. This position works cross-functionally with all staff to ensure donors are meaningfully connected to Bridge’s impact. The Major Gifts Relationship Manager serves on the Marketing and Development Board Committee and is expected to attend fundraising events sponsored by Bridge Communities.

The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, highly organized, persistent in outreach, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This position is a hybrid work schedule with an office at our headquarters in Glen Ellyn; this position is expected to report to the office 3-4 days per week but will be out of office engaging with donors much of the time. There will be regular nights and weekends (4-6 per month) work requirements.

Founded in 1988, Bridge Communities (Bridge) is DuPage County’s largest provider of transitional housing and supportive services for families facing homelessness. At present, Bridge owns and operates twenty-five apartment buildings in 7 DuPage villages, with 154 total apartments. Bridge serves over 100 families facing homelessness annually, with Program staff providing intake and referral, case management, employment coaching, children’s services, family wellness programming, donated vehicles, oversight of volunteer mentors, and more in a two-generation model working to break the cycle of poverty for each family unit.

Responsibilities

Major Gifts Portfolio Management (60%)

·       Manage a portfolio of 130+ major gift donors through a structured management process to advance relationships and increase giving.

·       Develop and implement individual engagement strategies to solicit, upgrade, and retain donors, with emphasis on personalized communication with an expected 8-10 visits per month.

·       Implement best practices in stewardship efforts for major donors, including thank-you calls and notes, tailored impact reporting, and customized experiences that reinforce their connection to Bridge’s mission and ensure donor feels appreciated and informed.

·       Draft compelling donor communications, proposals, and stewardship materials in collaboration with the development and marketing team.

·       Engage major donors in your portfolio in planned giving, special campaigns, and special events.

 

Prospect Research, Reporting & Database Management (25%)

·       Research and cultivate relationships with new donors who make a gift of $500 or more. Add those with interests and capacity for major gifts to your portfolio.

·       Support donor acquisition and pipeline building through targeted campaigns and donor events aimed at increasing major gift prospects.

·       Leverage wealth screening, data analysis, and donor behavior to identify and qualify new prospects.

·       Maintain accurate donor records and contact reports in the (Blackbaud) CRM system.

·       Work with the Database and Donor Relations Specialist and Director of Resource Development to ensure integrity of donor data and track performance metrics.

·       Generate customized reports to evaluate portfolio performance and inform strategic adjustments.

 

Interface with Internal and External Stakeholders (10%)

·       Contribute to a work culture that recognizes and celebrates diverse perspectives, Bridge Communities’ values, open communication, and trauma-informed principles.

·       Serve as a thought partner and coach on major gift strategy across departments and with volunteers.

·       Participate in Development Board Committee quarterly meetings, as well as select program meetings to remain connected to client outcomes and to craft compelling impact narratives for donors.

·       Stay abreast of changes in laws and tax codes regarding charitable giving. Understanding of IRA, DAF, and RMD giving benefits and strategies.  Lead development and execution of marketing and communication materials to be sent to appropriate audiences.

·       Identify trends and monitor current events to anticipate opportunities for Bridge to engage in and/or lead the local, regional, and national conversation on housing instability and family homelessness.  

 

Budget and Administrative Management (5%)

·       Work with the Director of Resource Development to set and meet annual revenue goals tied to major gifts, recurring donors, and donor pipelines.

·       Manage the wealth screening tools and provide reports to development team members and CEO.

1)      Education and Experience

• Organize semi-annual webinars with the Investment Manager for fund representatives.
• Attend periodic economic webinars held by the Investment Advisor and provide a summary to Management and the Investment Committee.

Administrative:
Enter and maintain vendor data in the Foundation’s software system.

Qualifications and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.

• Provide financial analysis and data support to the Advancement, Programs, and Communications departments.
• Prepare financial summaries and reports for meetings with fund representatives.
• Process grants and accounts payable.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
• Prepare 1099 tax forms.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of bank, credit card, and investment accounts.
• Assist with the month-end close process.
• Process journal entries and interfund transfers.
• Provide reports as needed to staff, donors, and not-for-profits.
• Prepare periodic fund statements.
• Provide support for the annual audit.

Investment Management:
Serve as the liaison between the Investment Managers, Management, and the Investment Committee.
• Analyze investment performance and make any necessary recommendations for changes to Management and the Investment Committee.
Perform semiannual reviews of money managers to comply with the Statement of Investment Policy process for performance oversight.
• Produce investment performance reports, overseeing and maintaining the investment reporting portal.
• Rebalance unmanaged investment portfolios and funds with multiple investments.
• Organize semi-annual webinars with the Investment Manager for fund representatives.
• Attend periodic economic webinars held by the Investment Advisor and provide a summary to Management and the Investment Committee.

Administrative:
Enter and maintain vendor data in the Foundation’s software system.
• Assist with the Audit, Financial Operations, and Investment committee meetings. Prepare agendas, reports, and review minutes.
• Work with management to maintain the Foundation’s policies and procedures.


Qualifications and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
• 1 – 2 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Nonprofit experience preferred; knowledge of DuPage’s philanthropic landscape is a plus.
• Ability to follow tasks through to completion within the timelines set for each project/task required.
• Strong analytic, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Highly organized, detailed-orientated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with computer-based accounting systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database management systems; comfortable learning new technology
• Ability to build trusted relationships internally and with key stakeholders and to be an effective Foundation ambassador among diverse constituents within the community

POSITION SUMMARY 

Under the supervision of the Mentor Teacher, the Teacher Aide will support the development and execution of  classroom activities with  the classroom team  and help maintain a classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate and meets the individual needs of children and enhancing all areas of development. The Teacher Aide will be responsible for assisting with implementing all programming requirements in adherence to all performance and outcomes standards as prescribed by the multiple funding and model requirements

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or G.E.D., Must be willing to pursue coursework specific to infants and toddlers, adhering to program guidelines, as necessary such as Child Development Credential (CDA) after 90 days must start the process and completion within 18 months;  Have some knowledge of best practices of Infant and Toddler development and care;  Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Participate in training to build an understanding of the Educare Model of early learning programming;remain up to date in required curriculum training and any other trainings as assigned or required;   Implement curriculum to support lesson planning Provide a dual language model in the classroom  Aide/Provide with learning experiences that promote all developmental areas, including improving the readiness of children for school by developing their language acquisition and vocabulary through a balanced, dual language approach that supports both Spanish and English language acquisition;  With the Lead Teacher and Teacher Assistant, guide and facilitate activities of the children, including: daily activities, selecting and arranging equipment and materials in the classroom;  Cooperate with other staff and classroom groups to maintain the smooth functioning of the classroom which at times may require changes to meet the needs of the children;  Through training will maintain a comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessment for each child, including observations in each area, and developmental assessment completed three times a year;  Through trainings and support from teaching team and supervisor will conduct homevisits at least twice a year and two parent conferences to discuss the child’s individual development and progress, assist the parents in developing observation skills and solicit parent observations;  Participate and engage in school’s special events  Eat with children and help them in their development of social and self-help skills, and sound nutritional practices;  Guide children's acquisition of social skills;  Attend staff training and meetings, and parent meetings as requested Aide in the provision and maintenance of safe and healthy developmentally appropriate environment; Assure that classroom equipment, furniture, materials, supplies are properly maintained and stored;  Use the playground as an extension of the classroom; assures that the playground is safe;  Write weekly observations per assessment procedure;  Aide in implementing an IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan) seeking clarification for any aspects that are not well understood;  Aide in recruitment  of families Support in the completion of  required reports in a timely and accurate fashion, e.g., lesson plans, portfolio forms, assessment, timesheets, meal reports etc;  Aide, as requested, in transition activities  Actively participate in the development and implementation of the Teacher Aide Professional Development Plan;  Participate in  reflective supervision as a participant;  Assures that files are complete, accurate, and confidentiality is maintained; and  Engage in active supervision of children which requires focused attention and intentional observation of children at all times.  Teacher position themselves so that they can observe all of the children: watching, counting, and listening at all times. They also use their knowledge of each child's development and abilities to anticipate what he/she will do, then get involved and redirect them when necessary.
