Chicago South Suburbs Neighborhood Revitalization

Neighborhood Revitalization is the practice of working with residents and communities to take a holistic approach to community reinvestment. It creates partnerships with residents and community organizations and businesses, building up the community to become a vibrant, safe, and inviting place to live for current and future residents. 

Habitat for Humanity Chicago South Suburbs is currently working on Neighborhood Revitalization in Sauk Village, IL. The NR program aims to serve more families by engaging the residents of neighborhoods and other community partners to revive neighborhoods and make them safe, inviting places to live. The NR program delivers a wide array of housing solutions such as preserving homes with exterior repairs; providing critical home repairs that alleviate critical health, life, and safety issues or housing code violations; rehabbing vacant and foreclosed homes to provide homeownership opportunities for low-income families, and improving the energy efficiency of homes through weatherization.
