Who We Are
Downers Grove Township provides a variety of programs and services to senior residents. We develop new and maintain existing programs that assist elderly residents to lead healthy and productive lives for as long as possible.
We promote services and provide information to allow for maximum independence for older adults. This is done through services such as Dial-A-Ride, Safety and Crime prevention programs, Information and Referral and more. We promote activities and provide information designed to encourage their well being by involvement in community activities, programs and life in general. This is accomplished through programs such as our Vintage Times Cable TV program, Banner News newsletter, as well as working with our Senior Advisory Committee and Seniors and Lawmen Together (S.A.L.T.) Council. Our advisory groups network, support and collaborate with community organizations to meet the needs of our senior residents.
What We Do
Friends of Downers Grove Township Senior Citizens exists to foster the independence and well being of older adults, supporting the efforts of Downers Grove Township. Based on their needs, we seek to enhance their quality of life by acting as a resource for funding programs, services, education and information.
