What We Do:

 The Counseling Center

 Specializing in adolescent mental health services, we primarily service those who live in the geographic area of unincorporated DuPage County, Willowbrook Corner, and students attending school district 86. We are your resource for confidential, professional outpatient psychotherapy and counseling services available on a sliding scale to those with or without health insurance.   

 SPARK - Willowbrook Youth Initiative

Learning enrichment and tutoring for kids K through 8th grade, in a safe and supervised environment … and support for parents, too. Includes access to mental health therapy on a sliding scale, recreation programming, athletics, summer camp, the arts, and more.  

 Youth Programming

Sports, arts, educational programs kids will love; from acting and basketball to birthday parties and writing workshops.

Adult Programming

 Fitness and cooking classes for the parent on the go; trips, events, clubs and activities for the active senior’s every interest.

Theater

Buy tickets to enjoy live theatre performed by members of your community. Learn more about theatre classes offered year round.

 Facility Rentals

 Need the perfect space for a meeting or party? We have a variety of rooms to accommodate from 10 to 350 guests.

 Dare to make a difference with your time, energy and talent, and watch great things happen for everyone, including you! We have a Junior Board for High School Youth and many other volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

You can help! Our services are not always covered by the fees that we charge and we receive no tax support. Your support is vital to the future of The Community House.

Based in Hinsdale and serving the surrounding suburbs, The Community House is a nonprofit organization that offers both community recreation and quality social services to people of all ages and walks of life.  We make a difference in the lives of thousands of families and individuals by providing local opportunities for athletics, arts and culture, counseling, education services, volunteer opportunities, and community connections.

Community Recreation

The Community House offers programs in a wide array of areas including; the arts, theater, fitness, athletics, education, group outings, special events, adult programming and fitness, senior services and programming including fitness, computers, trips and more.  These programs give participants, both children and adults an opportunity to build friendships, create memories and improve their quality of life.

Social Services

The Community House is vital to the western suburbs as an option for important services. The Counseling Center provides highly qualified therapists to offer psychotherapy for  individuals and groups, primarily to students in school district 86 and to resident of the unincorporated area of DuPage County known as Willowbrook Corner.  Residents of the isolated Willowbrook Corner neighborhood receive opportunities in low-cost day care, education support, recreation, learning and the arts.  

Deeply Rooted in the Community

For over 70 years, The Community House has been the source for recreation and social programs in Hinsdale and the surrounding communities.  Generations have turned to The Community House as a place to hold community events, fundraisers, plays and to meet and socialize.

The Community House serves a broad range of residents from Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Westmont, and Willowbrook.  The Community House delivers these programs thanks to the support of individual donors, memberships, program fees and relationships with corporate partners. The Community House does not receive any tax support.

Visitors to The Community House keep coming back for new learning experiences, counseling support, recreation and volunteer opportunities.  Ultimately, all areas of service provided by The Community House enriches the quality of life for people of all ages.
