We are excited to announce a new Forest Garden project on DuPage County right of way land along the Illinois Prairie Path at Ferry & Rigi Roads. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate how unproductive public land can be transformed into a productive ecosystem filled with food bearing plants and trees. It takes a community for permaculture to grow, so please spend a few hours supporting this project. Come out and help us sheet mulch the grass with cardboard and leaves to prepare for spring planting!
Please bring gloves and tools (wheelbarrow, cart, shovels, pitchforks, garden rakes, box cutter) that will help with the job. Several wheelbarrows will be needed, so let us know if you can bring one.
You can come for the entire time 10-2 pm or just part of the day. Any time you can spare to help with this project will be appreciated.
