Description

The MDA of Chicagoland and Northern Illinois is looking for volunteers to assist MDA staff at our 11th Annual Toast to Life Event!

In April of 1999, Sergeant Bob Madden, a 30 year member of the Glen Ellyn Police Department, was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 43. Bob Madden passed away from complications of ALS on May 22nd, 2007, far outliving the life expectancy he was given when first diagnosed. He was 51 years old. “A Toast to Life” was started by the Madden family in 2007 and continues to honor not only Bob’s memory, but that of the many others who have lost their lives in the battle with ALS by raising awareness of the disease and much needed funding for research. The event today is planned by a committee spanning many individuals whose lives have been affected by ALS.

The name “A Toast to Life” was chosen as a reminder to live life to the fullest each and every day. It offers an opportunity for business professionals, family and friends to come together to combat this devastating disease. “A Toast to Life” has raised more than $880,000 for ALS research over the last ten years.

Please join us for this monumental year as we work to surpass $1 million raised since Toast to Life’s inception in 2007. Join us on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Park West! To volunteer at this event, purchase tickets and learn more about sponsorship opportunities visit our websitemdatoasttolife.com
