Senior Citizen Leaf Raking Event

West Chicago’s annual Senior Citizen Leaf Raking Event is scheduled for Saturday, November 4th, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Volunteers are needed to lend a helping hand to our senior citizens and those unable to tackle the task of raking the leaves in their yards. Last year was our largest event to date; we tackled over 30 yards of residents in need. 

Any group, organization, business, or individual looking for a rewarding service project should contact Officer Mike Rosenwinkel at the West Chicago Police Department at (630) 293-2751 or by email at mrosenwinkel@westchicago.org.

Volunteers will gather at the Fox Community Center, 306 Main Street, at 7:00 a.m. to receive their assignment, and return to the Community Center at 11:00 a.m. for a thank you pizza party. Participants are asked to bring a rake and work gloves.
