Description

We Can Build It!

This is a rehab project. Rehab home projects are great opportunities for DuPage Habitat to purchase existing housing stock and renovate them to meet our standards for both quality assurance and affordability, allowing us to serve more families and improve the overall housing stock in our communities.

Volunteer day activities can include anything it takes to build a home from start to finish. Typical volunteer activities include framing, siding, painting, roofing, laying flooring, hanging doors or windows, trim work, finishing, landscaping, and cleaning. No construction experience is necessary. In fact, most of our volunteers are brand-new to the world of home construction! Simply come ready to learn and Habitat construction staff will guide you from there. We mean it when we say – every single task is critical for the success of our mission.

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone.

Covid-19 Safety Precautions:

Habitat for Humanity prioritizes the health and safety of our staff and volunteers. Currently, we have the following guidelines in place (subject to change based on case levels, as well as CDC, state, and local guidelines):

  • We ask that if you aren't feeling well, to please stay home out of precaution
  • Masks are no longer required; however, we welcome and support anyone that chooses to voluntarily  wear a mask
  • We encourage volunteers and staff to practice social distancing when possible

In addition, we have implemented the following guidelines to help ensure health and safety on the volunteer site:

  • Limited sharing of tools
  • Designated individuals to use power tools, to avoid multiple touchpoints
  • All tools will be sanitized at the end of the day
