You can help by providing companionship, comfort, and other services for people receiving hospice care and their families
Although all have different reasons for volunteering, all Lightways volunteers are committed to providing unwavering support with the powerful positivity of light.
Direct care volunteers provide services directly to patients and families. Volunteers will visit a patient’s private residence or a nursing home. These services include:
* Patient/Family Support Volunteers visit patients and families in their home, or long-term care facility. Volunteers provide companionship to both patient and family caregivers.
* Veteran-to-veteran volunteers provide support from military veterans to veteran patients. Veterans often appreciate contact with another vet.
* Pet Therapy Volunteers provide direct support to patients through visits with their certified therapy dogs.
