Description

Girl Scout Champions help introduce Girl Scouts to girls and families in local communities.  They play a vital role in helping our schools and communities learn about Girl Scouts.  Girl Scout Champions show girls and adults how to get involved and join the fun!

The role of the Girl Scout Champion is available to anyone who is willing to become a member of Girl Scouts and has completed a background check. Champions are appointed by their local community/Service Unit Manager because they are familiar with their community (or are willing to learn) and are excited about meeting people and making new connections.

We request champions agree to a one-year term so there is time to become comfortable with the position and build important relationships. Champions can expect to spend 3-5 hours per month during our peak membership season (August through October)and 2-3 hours during the other months.

Girl Scout Champions will work closely with local volunteers and council staff to promote the mission and benefits of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.  Champions actively engage adults and girls in assigned areas to join Girl Scouts.

How do Girl Scout Champions accomplish this? By:

  • Hosting Girl Scout information/recruitment tables at local schools, park districts, libraries or places of worship.
  • Organizing Girl Scout activity tables at community, church, or school events; fairs/carnivals, parades,  and seasonal community family events.
  • Attend Girl Scout Champion training.
