Hotline Paraprofessional

Become a part of our Hotline Paraprofessional Volunteer Team! Help us grow our hotline, to reach more people in need.

Each paraprofessional can commit to at least one regular 4-hour shift each week. We do require a 240 hour commitment post training, completed in about a year. Paraprofessional volunteers respond to calls for the 988 Crisis and Suicide Lifeline as well as our local Depression Line. Our paraprofessionals compassionately listen and respond to callers who may be having thoughts of suicide, are experiencing a mental health crisis, or are in need of emotional support. Besides support paraprofessionals may also be providing resources to callers to connect them with further services.

Training will be provided to all volunteers. There will be both "classroom" style training along with "on-the-line" training. Volunteers range between the ages of 18-75 years old. You do NOT need to be a mental health professional to be a volunteer; many of our volunteers live in the surrounding communities and are committed to helping those in need.
