Who We Are
Recovery International is a mental health self-help organization founded in 1937 by neuropsychiatrist Abraham Low, M.D. in Chicago, Illinois. Recovery International's program is based on using cognitive behavioral tools to manage everyday stress and learning to live a more peaceful life.
What We Do
We provide peer support groups to learn and practice the cognitive behavioral tools developed by Dr. Abraham Low, to manage the anxiety, stress, frustration and anger that arise in response to everyday events. We also work with people who are dealing with mental health issues or recent hospitalizations to help them manage the symptoms which can arise from the challenges of everyday life. Free and low-cost peer support groups are available through Zoom, in-person, and by telephone seven days a week.
