Our Impact
The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. Every day we put heroes in the lives of others so that they can make better decisions for tomorrow. We help individuals find peace, balance, and acceptance as we come together to strengthen community for the common good.
The Y makes accessible the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow and thrive. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every child and teen, improves the nation’s health and well-being, and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
What We Do
Our Strength is in Community
The Y is the leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
- The B.R. Ryall YMCA was founded in 1919 and has served the community for 96 years.
- We serve the communities of Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Glendale Heights, Winfield, Warrenville, West Chicago and Carol Stream.
- The B.R. Ryall YMCA is approximately 5,500 members strong and serves over 1,500 non-members annually.
- The B.R. Ryall YMCA employs 175 full- and part-time staff.
- We are a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
Our Cause: We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That’s why at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors in 10,000 communities across the country to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Our Values: The Y is guided by four core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
