Who We Are

The Robert R. McCormick Foundation is committed to fostering communities of educated, informed and engaged citizens. Through philanthropic programs, Cantigny Park and museums, the Foundation helps develop citizen leaders and works to make life better in our communities.

What We Do

Robert R. McCormick, former editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune, died in 1955 at age 74. His will established the Robert R. McCormick Charitable Trust and designated Cantigny as a public space for education and recreation. This extraordinary gift, now part of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, enriches our community every day and is enjoyed by more than 300,000 visitors each year.  This 500-acre world of beauty, history, learning and fun, as a gift to the community and today it’s yours to enjoy. Whether your interest is viewing a Historic home or first-class military museum, enjoying a picnic near a playground, strolling through magnificent gardens, golfing a championship course, learning a new skill or hobby or dining with your group, Cantigny has something for everyone in this beautiful park.
