Who We Are
At Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice (FVVH), we offer support to the whole person and entire family who are affected by a life threatening illness or the loss of a loved one. We support the patient and family to alleviate the pain, suffering and loneliness associated with dying and grieving.
Supportive care from FVVH includes:
- Nursing Assessment
- Community referral and care coordination
- Equipment and supplies
- Trained volunteers
- Lending library –books, videos, tapes, CD’s
The interdisciplinary team of Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice consists of the Care Coordinator, Family Services Coordinator, Chaplain, Bereavement Coordinator, and Volunteer in cooperation with the patient, their family and a primary care physician. Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice does not provide hands on medical care, but focuses on providing practical, respite, emotional and bereavement support for its clients and families.
Bereavement care is available to anyone, regardless of how much time has elapsed since the death of a loved one. An initial grief assessment is completed and a care plan is developed by the Bereavement Coordinator to guide and assist a volunteer in supporting the bereaved family or individual.
Various support groups are offered for children and adults, each group varying in length and tailored to the types of loss.
