Who We Are

Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois, one of the largest private child welfare agencies in the state, nurtures and strengthens children and families in need. LCFS is a welcoming organization that serves people of all faiths, races, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender expressions and gender-identifications. The agency has been embracing new and innovative solutions to the challenges impacting children and families for more than 150 years. Currently, LCFS has more than 300 employees at 16 sites across Illinois. 

 

 

What We Do

LCFS improves the well-being of people across the state by protecting children, strengthening families and building futures for those who have experienced trauma. We do this by providing a variety of services, including foster care, adoption, counseling, youth shelter care and preventative care programs which keep children safely with their families.
