Who We Are
We are a therapeutic foster care and adoption agency.
Mission -
Our mission is to build a strong, stable, foundation of support for each youth we serve, and develop opportunities that enable them to discover and sustain a positive life.
Vision -
All youth served by OCH are on a path to achieve happiness, health, self-sufficiency, and success.
Our Children’s Homestead (OCH) believes that every youth, despite their troubled past, deserves the opportunity and is capable of developing healthy family relationships and participating in typical life experiences.
What We Do
OCH opened in 1995 and contracts with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to provide therapeutic foster care to the most traumatized foster youth in Illinois. We provide our youth an opportunity to grow up in a nurturing home environment with a family, rather than an institutionalized setting.
OCH serves youth of all ages however, the majority are between the ages of 12 and 21. They have been removed from their homes due to severe abuse, neglect or dependency. They struggle with a combination of medical, developmental, mental health and behavioral issues that require intensive services and a steadfast commitment to helping and healing.
