Who We Are
Heart Haven Outreach, better known as H2O, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that serves middle and high school teens in the greater Bolingbrook area who are experiencing challenging times. Through a variety of time-tested and research-based programs, we pursue our mission of “reaching out to the hearts of youth and facilitating life transformation.”
We are a Christian-based organization that believes healthy development is both balanced and multidimensional, including physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual components. Through a variety of time-tested and research based programs, we pursue our mission of "reaching out to the hearts of youth and facilitating life transformation." We influence youth and their families by building caring and supportive relationships, offering lessons that equip and empower, and we are partners with the community at large.
Who do we serve?
We currently serve teenagers that are in middle school and high school but more specifically the Valley View School District. Howevere we welcome teens from throughout the area.

Fees and Funding

Confidentiality
All "One-to-One " and group disclosures to H2O staff and volunteers are confidential unless the information is subject to mandated reporting guidelines.
ABOUT BEING FAITH BASED
"Our faith is what drives us, but we don't want it to drive you away."We do not want our faith to be a barrier to people of different backgrounds, so we maintain a secular atmosphere during support groups and school programs. At all times, we respect others' rights to choose a different faith or no faith at all, and we welcome open and considerate dialogue around these beliefs.
What We Do
What does H2O offer?
Tutoring - "Connect for Success"
We offer free help with schoolwork by offering a quiet place to study with guidance from trained tutors and a healthy snack.
Support Groups- "Real Life"
Tuesdays 7:00 P.M.-8:30 P.M.
Every Tuesday, our staff facilitates support groups where teens can come to talk about their thoughts, feelings, struggles, and achievements. We refer to them as "Real Life" because it is a safe place where our youth can be heard and understand they are not alone. Doors open at 6:30 P.M.
Recreational Activities- (Times Vary)
Every Wednesday, we offer a different recreational activity at no or low cost. We refer to these activities as "Good Clean Fun" and they may include playing games, making crafts, field trips, and much more. Space is limited on Wednesdays, so sign-ups for these events must be done in advance. Call (630) 226-8403 for details about events planned.
Community Service- "You Got Served" Early Release Wednesdays
On early release Wednesdays in Valley View School District, we offer service opportunities and trips that challenge youth to consider a reality beyond themselves and outside their comfort zones.
Character & Life Skills -"Going Deeper"
Thursdays 7:00 P.M.-8:30 P.M.
Every Thursday, our staff addresses specific issues that a teenager might have through games, activities, lessons, and group discussions. All topics are based on Search Institute's "40 Developmental Assets." Doors open at 6:30 P.M.
Mentoring "One-to-One"
Our trained mentors are available to meet with youth for mentoring most days throughout the year. We refer to this as "a One-to-One." The purpose is for the teen to develop a positive relationship with an adult who genuinely cares about him or her and who can provide personal support in dealing with life's many pressures and situations.
Partnering with Schools-Discipline Program
Staff is available at Bolingbrook and Romeoville High Schools as well as Martinez (A.V.M), Brooks, Humphrey, and Lukancic Middle Schools for Talk It Out. This program helps students with behavior issues understand the seriousness of their decisions as well as develop coping skills for handling situations better. For more information, please contact the Dean of your respected school.
