We have the following annual events:

• Fall Chamber orchestra concert
• Fall Opera - staged, with costumes and projected English subtitles
• December Family Christmas concert - collaberation with Itasca churches
• New Year's Day Family Concert / dinner - our annual fund raiser
• Winter chamber orchestra concert
• Spring opera - staged, with costumes and projected English subtitles
• "The SBC Voice" - winter auditions and late April / early May concert which allows up to 8 finalists - young opera students and performers - to perform in front of a live audience, with chamber orchestra accompaniment

The Sinfonietta Bel Canto NFP ("SBC") provides Downers Grove and the Western Suburbs an outlet to enjoy premier classical symphony performance and chamber opera works. The western suburbs are rich in musical talent and the SBC allows audiences to enjoy performers from their community. Its members are well seasoned musicians, sharing their gift of talent and music to audiences throughout the Chicagoland area. Additionally, the SBC often performs collaborative concerts with other area groups outside of its regular subscription season.

Our “home” concert venue is Immanuel Lutheran Church in Downers Grove.

We perform a fall and a spring opera, hold two additional chamber orchestra concerts, and have a New Year's Day Family Concert / fund raiser.  In late April or early May, we have a competition for young vocalists - "The SBC Voice" which allows up to 8 finalists - young opera students and performers - to perform in front of a live audience, with chamber orchestra accompaniment.
