What We Do

The Glen Ellyn Historical Society was established in 1968 and is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to research, collect, preserve and present the history of Glen Ellyn and to educate and engage the community in understanding the effect of its heritage on the present and future. Our original project was the restoration of an 1840's stagecoach inn, now known as Stacy's Tavern Museum, located at 557 Geneva Road in Glen Ellyn. The Historical Society later expanded into the History Center, located around the corner from the museum, at 800 North Main Street. The offices, archives, collections, and meeting space are all housed there, along with a unique gift shop, Stacy's Corners Store.
