Who We Are
Welcome to the Addison ReStore – DuPage County’s home for discount building materials. All items at the ReStore are donated by companies & individuals and sold to the general public at greatly reduced prices. All proceeds from the ReStore go directly to fulfill the DuPage Habitat for Humanity mission to help build affordable housing for families in need.
The success of our Habitat ReStore depends on receiving, preparing and pricing donations of building materials for sale to the general public. The proceeds from the sales help fund DuPage Habitat’s mission of providing affordable housing to partner families. In addition, the ReStore provides low-cost building materials to property owners and prevents usable materials from ending up in landfills.
New merchandise arrives daily!
What We Do
As ReStore volunteers give their time and effort, more and more resources become available to put toward preparing homes of Habitat partner families. ReStore volunteer tasks include taking in new merchandise and cleaning it in preparation for sale, testing merchandise for functionality, organizing merchandise on floor, moving merchandise and setting up displays, maintaining general orderliness and cleanliness of store and welcoming and assisting customers. Volunteers should expect hands-on work.
- Shifts: We are open Tuesday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Minimum age: 16 years old. The liability waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian for all volunteers under 18 before coming on site.
- Clothing: wear closed-toe shoes, pants, t-shirt.
- Water: please bring your own water.
- Lunch: You can bring your own. We have a refrigerator in the back room.
- Bathrooms: in the store
- Personal items: There is a place to put your belongings in the back room.
