We’re excited to kick off our 2024 season! Thanks to volunteers like you, last year we grew over 14,000 pounds of fresh, nutritious produce in 140 garden beds throughout the western suburbs. This year, we are expanding our efforts, planning new gardens in new locations with new community partnerships.
Volunteers are the heart of this work, and we’d love for you to join us this year as we continue growing food security and food equity in our region.
Please join our season kickoff event on Thursday, March 21, featuring gardening education, volunteer information and training.
- At 6pm, Program Manager, Amanda Bryant, will share tips for getting your vegetable garden off to a healthy start this spring, and guidance for growing a prolific harvest and donating excess to food pantries.
- At 7pm, The GardenWorks Project staff will speak about GardenWorks' sustainable approach to food growing and expanding fresh food access, and discuss volunteer opportunities for this garden season.
You'll also learn more about our annual membership program, The Food Growers Network, and leave with 10 free seed packets and a tote bag when you sign up for only $25! Your donation supports GardenWorks programming to build food security.
