DuPage Build Site Volunteer - Glen Ellyn

Description

We Can Build It!

DuPage and Chicago South Suburbs Habitat for Humanity has been building up the community since 1995. We have builds/rehabs scattered sites throughout DuPage County and CSS. We also offer a program for Home Repairs.

We have years of experience building stronger corporate teams while providing employees with a unique way to give back to their community. Companies of all sizes can engage their employees and encourage stronger relationships while learning new skills. No construction experience is necessary. In fact, most of our volunteers are brand-new to the world of home construction! Simply come ready to learn and Habitat construction staff will guide you from there.

Volunteer day activities can include anything it takes to build a home from start to finish. Typical volunteer activities include framing, siding, painting, roofing, laying flooring, hanging doors or windows, trim work, finishing, landscaping, and cleaning. We mean it when we say – every single task is critical for the success of our mission.

Habitat provides all the tools, building materials, and training for your Team Build; no construction experience is needed. Teams contribute a tax-deductible donation in conjunction with their build day to help us build more homes for hardworking families in need! At the beginning of your shift construction staff will provide a site orientation and safety talk prior to assigning your tasks for the day.

Covid-19 Safety Precautions:

Habitat for Humanity prioritizes the health and safety of our staff and volunteers. Currently, we have the following guidelines in place (subject to change based on case levels, as well as CDC, state, and local guidelines):
