Role/Title: Alive Center Teen Program Lead
Pay Rate: $20 - $25 an hour based on experience
Hours: 25 – 30 a week; 4 – 5 days a week; flexible schedule but roughly 12 – 6pm school year and 10:30 – 4:30pm summers, as well 2nd and 4th Monday evenings from 6 – 8:45pm for Teen Advisory Board meetings.
Location: Alive Naperville but will need to be available to occasionally backup our Teen Drop-in Leads at Alive Aurora and Alive Hanover Park
Commitment: 2 years minimum commitment
Job Description:
The Alive Center Teen Program Lead / Alive Teen Initiate (ATI) Lead is responsible for mentoring the Alive Naperville Teen Advisory Board (TAB) of high schoolers and all of its associated Teen Initiated Clubs and Programs. Alive Naperville’s 27 member TAB meets twice a monthly and plans and implements many of the programs offered at Alive Naperville. The ATI Leads assists the teen leads in planning and executing their programs. The ATI lead also assists Alive Aurora and Hanover Park as an ATI/TAB Subject Matter Expert. This role also backups up all of our drop-in locations when a drop-in lead is sick or on vacation.
Requirements & Skills:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Teaching certificate, Social Worker or Equivalent preferred
- Classroom or camp experience or general experience working with teens
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong planning skills
- Google Suite/ Computer literacy
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Form strong, mentoring relationships with teen leads
- Supervise and mentor the Naperville Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
- Drive the scheduling of all Fall, Spring and Summer ATI programs, about 45 programs (the teen leads create and deliver the curriculum but ATI Lead gets them scheduled and marketed)
- Ensure that each ATI program has goals and is measured against those goals using Impact surveys
- Ensure that supplies are ordered for all ATI programs
- Mentor the Teen Leads during the execution of their ATI program
- Collect Impact Survey data for all kids that attend the ATI programs
- Maintains all ATI / TAB processes and procedure documentation
- Be a backup for running teen Drop-in at all 3 Alive locations (2-3 days every two months)
- Guide the teens toward appropriate behavior such as ensuring teen leads clean up after their programs
