Connect with Seniors and Make a New Friend

This opportunity is for you

We are looking for volunteers who like to talk and enjoy listening to others. Volunteers are matched with one senior hospice patient  to have conversations with, be a friend to, play games with, watch TV/movies, take walks, listen to music, color, complete word searches or crossword puzzles, or put together actual jigsaw puzzles. Visit your patient two-three times per month (for 30-60 minutes) at their skilled nursing facility or memory care center or brick and mortar home (you tell us where you are comfortable going).

Your visits will bring joy and smiles to patients, some who do not get many visitors. Full training is provided at our Oak Brook Office or at a coffee shop near you or online. A volunteer coordinator will meet you at your first visit to introduce you and show you how a typical volunteer visit goes. Volunteers are matched with people who live near their home or live within an area designated by you.

Make a difference in the lives of our hospice patients and leave them smiling and waiting for your next visit. We will give you everything you need, including activities you can do with your patient. 

Volunteer just as you are; no need to dress up. Must pass background check, drug test (not marijuana), physical, and fingerprinting. You will also need a TB test within the last year. If you have not been tested we can do a two-step TB test free of charge in our Oak Brook office.
